One of the unique benefits of our club is our mentoring program, designed to help woodturners of all levels — from beginners to advanced — improve their skills in a safe and supportive environment.
Our mentors are volunteers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge in all facets of woodturning. Whether you’re learning the basics or tackling complex techniques, they’re here to help — and they’re all easy to work with.
Most often, mentoring happens in the mentor’s shop at a mutually agreed-upon time. The program is flexible — reach out directly to the mentor to arrange a time that works for both of you.
How the Mentoring Program Works
- New to woodturning?
- Thurman will help match you with a mentor who fits your learning goals.
- Both the mentor and the mentee must be current members of SLWT.
