The club visited Eureka Springs School of the Arts today for our monthly hands on meeting. We turned 35 pens and 8 pencils for the school to use as gifts for key stakeholders. A 7” piece of 3/4” extreme curly maple turned into a small platter. Sunburst finish inspired by Fender and Gibson guitars. Finish is yellow, orange, and red alcohol based dyes applied while the piece is spinning on the lathe. Spray lacquer provides the gloss.
