Stateline Woodturners
June, 2008 Meeting
Well, it was quite a weekend. The demo Mike Mahoney put on Saturday was outstanding. It is easy to see why he is
considered to be one of the finest turners in the world. Many thanks to the Central Arkansas folks who drove all that
way, as well as the NEOWTA members from Oklahoma . We hope you enjoyed your visit here. We would like nothing
better than to schedule some "get-togethers" with you in the future.

Mike has donated the items he turned, during his demo, to the club. We will be auctioning these in the near future.
The club purchased three of Mike’s videos at the demo, and they will be part of our growing library. As always, we
owe a big thank you to Mark Ost, for hosting the hands on classes in his shop. The use of his facility is a tremendous
resource for our club; I’m fairly certain that many clubs don’t have the opportunity to experience this level of
support.

The hands-on classes were great, and the chance to have some one on one instruction from a national turner was
exciting. I learned a lot, and have already started to use that information in my turning. I heard only very positive
things from everyone in the classes.

Thanks to everyone involved in this project, and everyone who jumped in and helped to make things run smoothly.
Well done!
